Waltham Public Schools Superintendent Brian Reagan is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Lipman as the Interim Principal of McDevitt Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year. A small committee of McDevitt and district staff interviewed Mr. Lipman last week and were very impressed with his commitment to the McDevitt Middle School and the students and families it serves. Mr. Lipman will officially begin his new assignment on August 15.
Mr. Lipman’s career in school leadership has prepared him well to assume this important new role. Prior to coming to Waltham in 2019, Mr. Lipman served in school leadership roles in New York City (NY), Pawtucket (RI), Cambridge, and Boston. The now vacant Interim Assistant Principal position will be posted starting tomorrow. Mr. Lipman and Ms. Wakefield will work collaboratively to fill this vacancy as soon as possible.
