Brian Reagan joined the Waltham Public Schools as superintendent in July 2020. Prior to coming to Waltham, he spent more than two decades in school leadership serving the community of Bedford as a High School Assistant Principal, Shrewsbury and Hudson as a High School Principal and most recently Wilmington as an Assistant Superintendent. Dr. Reagan began his career as an instrumental music teacher.

Dr. Reagan believes in the power of shared decision-making. As a school leader, he has always focused his work around building teams and developing a common vision that speaks to equitable access to rigorous and enriching programming. His own experiences as a student, where the music program grounded him to school, has influenced his approach to teaching, learning, and leadership.

A Waltham native, Dr. Reagan is a 1990 graduate of Waltham High School. He credits his early desire to become a public school educator to the talented and caring teachers who supported him while he was a student in Waltham. Dr. Reagan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston University, a Master of Educational Administration degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a Doctor of Education degree from Northeastern University. Dr. Reagan is honored to lead the Waltham Schools and looks forward to working with the community to enhance opportunities for all students so they graduate high school as college and career-ready citizens eager to be active contributors to the world in which we live.
