Advanced Placement (AP) (French, Italian, and Spanish)

Narrative:

Challenge yourself with a college-level curriculum conducted entirely in the target language to hone your interpretive and presentational skills. You will explore six thematic units through the lens of literature, media, and cultural analysis while preparing for the AP exam in May. This course guides you toward Advanced Low to Mid proficiency, ensuring you are equipped for high-level communication.

Why is self-esteem important? How does self-esteem affect the destiny of a person?

2 Varied The Value of the Family and Community
How is the concept of family defined in society?
What are the traditions and values that define a family? How does one acquire and maintain traditions and values? Is this an important component to the family?
What is the role of the individual in the family and society?
Is the role of an individual in society as important as the role of an individual in the family?
Students will demonstrate understanding and self expression in the target language about the following subtopics:
  • Customs and Values
  • Family Structure
  • Traditions
  • Family and Community
3 Varied World Challenges
What are the social, economical, political and environmental challenges that face today's societies?
What are some possible solutions to these challenges?
How can we improve the situation? What do we need to do to improve the world? Is it worth our effort to improve the world? Is everyone engaged in this process? How can we promote individual participation in the process?
Students will demonstrate understanding and self expression in the target language about the following subtopics:
