The Waltham High School Building Project
In so many ways, Waltham and the school system operate from a position of strength. We recognize that we have work to do to improve, but we also know that we deliver programs and opportunities to our students that most communities only dream about. We are fortunate to have so many great teachers and educators in our system. This is true at the high school where our teachers have the skills to prepare ALL of our students for the college or career of their choice.
However, our current high school building does not always allow us to deliver everything we would like for students. As a result of strong leadership from Mayor McCarthy, School Committee, and the high school team, the Waltham Public Schools entered into the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) process in the hopes that we would be invited to compete for a new or renovated school. After submission of reports, documents and responses to questions, Waltham has moved very far along in the process. We are honored that at the September 30 MSBA board meeting, Waltham has been formally invited into the next phase (feasibility study)!
