Just because it's summer doesn't mean the learning needs to stop! In addition to the many summer programs hosted by WPS, we have a suggestions and summer reading opportunities for our students at all levels.
Waltham High School students, including incoming 9th graders, will be reading All American Boys. Students and families can learn more about the book and the summer reading program on the One School, One Story Website.
McDevitt and Kennedy Middle School students, including incoming 5th graders, are participating in the pilot year of the Two Schools, One Story program, and will be reading The Lions of Little Rock. At our Elementary schools, students are encouraged to choose summer reading options from the available grade-level lists! Additionally, Library Teacher Carol Klatt at Northeast compiled a calendar of summer learning activities for elementary students. Last but not least, the WPS Digital Playground provides a safe and accessible place for kids to create, explore, and practice over the summer!
