At the October 5th School Committee meeting, in an effort to clarify and show to residents the extent of the land owned by the school department that is under consideration for a new Waltham High School, Member John Frassica proposed that the School Building Committee Members stand along the boundary lines to outline the property. Mr. Frassica stated this would be done on Tuesday, October 11th at 4:30 p.m. and suggested the local cable station and the high school TV/Broadcasting students’ video tape the event.
We invite members of the public to attend the viewing, which will serve as an opportunity for the School Building Committee members to engage in an evidence-based discussion with Waltham’s citizens about the potential impact of new construction at Waltham High School.
To be clear, any planned construction at Waltham High School does not infringe upon any of the 113 acres of conservation land. In fact, the entire project, should it be on the site of the current high school, would be on land that is fully under the care, custody and control of the Waltham Public Schools.
