Winter Reading Challenge

The FitzGerald School students participated in an assembly recently to kick off their exciting Winter Reading Challenge! Students are encouraged to complete the hot chocolate mug recording sheet and add marshmallows as they read.

The goal is for students to add as many marshmallows as they can! At the end of the reading challenge (March 1st) any student who has turned in their hot chocolate reading log will be entered in a raffle. Students will receive one raffle ticket for every 10 marshmallows on their mug. The recommended reading times for each grade level are below.

Kindergarten: 10 minutes per night
Grades 1-2: 15 minutes per night
Grades 3-5: 20 minutes per night

The decorated mugs will be on display throughout the school. We are looking forward to seeing as many mugs as we can! Thank you for helping your child become a better reader and for supporting the Winter Reading Challenge at home!
