Waltham High students will read stories with the children who attend, and every family will go home with a free book! 9th Annual Moody Street 5K

The 9th Annual Moody Street 5K will be held Sunday May 5, 2019 at 12pm on the Moody Street bridge. This race is a fundraiser supporting enrichment and athletic programs for Waltham Public Secondary Schools. Participation and friendly competition from all Waltham schools is encouraged with prizes awarded for top finishers, best school representation, and a variety of community-based awards. The Butterflies have arrived!

Kindergarten students were overjoyed at the site of butterflies in the enclosure this week. Students learned the life cycle of the butterfly and were able to witness it first hand. Chromebook Corner

What are our students working on with our Chromebooks? This week, second grade students were working on their culture projects on a chosen country using CultureGrams. Thanks to Mrs. Finnerty for her efforts to support this research project and showing the students all the site had to offer. Students across the grade levels have utilized the Chromebooks for additional lessons including an electrical circuit simulation. The students enjoy the use of this technology in the classroom immensely! Keep an eye out for additional updates to find out how else our students are utilizing our Chromebooks around the school.
FitzGerald School Garden Update

The garden installation was a great success! On April 30th, families from across the grade levels came to install our new garden. We truly embodied our Panther Pride mission statement on this day! Our Panther Pride we always show, every day we learn and grow! Each student has also been involved with seed starting in their classrooms. Thank you to our PTO for all of their support for this wonderful addition to our community
PARCC Testing is under way!
April 26, 2016
Students in Grades 3-5 have begun PARCC testing and will continue completing these assessments through May. We are so proud of the effort the students have put forth to show what they know. Waltham Public Schools have transitioned to the PARCC from MCAS in Mathematics and English Language Arts for the Spring 2016 testing period. Grade 5 students will also take the Science MCAS assessment. Please use the link below to access the schedule.
