Professional Development Plan - Phase in over 2009 – 2011
Time Line – School year 2009-2010
Given the need to phase in the professional development process, the WPS Calendar for 2010-2011 will follow the calendar structure of prior school years; however, the content of professional development will be driven by the planning process put in place during 2009-10.
Feb/March, 2010 – Departments, other than Math, ELA/Reading, and Science who already have PD needs identified via DIP, will assess professional development needs based on student needs.
March, 2010 – Write PD proposals for 2010-11.
April 15, 2010 – Proposals due.
April 29, 2010 – PD Committee reviews proposals.
May 17, 2010 – District PD Plan and funded proposals announced.
May 17-June, 2010 - Selection of additional PD Committee members.
June, 2010 - PD Committee meets.
School year 2010-2011
PD Plans approved May, 2010, are implemented in schools and departments.
October, 2010 - discussion and proposal process begins for PD, 2011-2012.
2011-2012 and subsequent school years
...will follow the Annual Timeline indicated in the Professional Development Plan.
