Vegetable of the month
The Vegetables of the Month are root vegetables. Common root vegetables include potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic. Some lesser known but equally delicious ones are turnips, rutabagas and parsnips. Root vegetables are plant roots that are used as vegetables. They are typically energy powerhouses – a great source of carbohydrates to keep your fueled for school or play! Full of nutrition and rich in flavor, root vegetables are commonly eaten roasted or served up in a warm winter soup.
