The FitzGerald School Garden was recently profiled in the Waltham Tribune. This article highlights all of the wonderful work done by our FitzGerald community to bring our garden to fruition. Thank you to our fabulous PTO for the generous time and effort to raise funds for the garden.
A special thank you to a pair of parents who supported this project throughout the year. Allison Smith, Kindergarten parent and our master gardener, has put so much effort in over the year from planning, to fundraising, and coordinating the installation. This has continued with regular maintenance of the garden during these first two months. Tracey McMahon, also a Kindergarten parent, worked on grants, curriculum materials, and with seed starting in our classrooms. Thank you so much to each of them.
An additional thank you to Kelly Kwedor, Kindergarten Teacher, who served as the faculty liaison for this project. She has shared so many wonderful ideas for learning opportunities with her colleagues and helped to quickly connect the teaching and learning happening at FitzGerald with the garden. The garden has helped us to truly embody our mission statement, "Our Panther Pride, we always show, every day we learn and GROW!"
