The FitzGerald School students participated in an assembly recently to kick off their exciting Spring Reading Challenge! Students are encouraged to fill in a flower pot recording sheet and add seeds as they read.
If you need another copy, you can download the flower pot packet and the letter in English and Spanish by clicking this link - Spring Reading Challenge Packet
The goal is for students to add as many seeds as they can! At the end of the reading challenge, (March 31st) we will tally up our flower pots to see which grade level has won the reading challenge. The decorated flower pots will be on display throughout the school. We can’t wait to see how creative and unique each flower pot is when it’s turned in. The recommended reading times for each grade level are below.
Kindergarten: 10 minutes per night
Grades 1-2: 15 minutes per night
Grades 3-5: 20 minutes per night
Thank you for helping your child become a better reader and for supporting the Spring Reading Challenge at home!
