The Fine Arts Department is under the direction of Douglas Trudeau.  The department encompasses both the music and art programs K- 12.   The music department offers instruction K - 12. Students in grades K - 8 receive general music and choral instruction on a weekly basis. This standards based curriculum is designed to meet the state frameworks in music.

In-School Instrumental Registration 

Beginning in grade 3, students may elect to play a string instrument, which includes violin, viola, and cello.  On a weekly basis students receive a private or small group lesson and participate in the school based orchestra.

Beginning in grade 4, students may elect to play a band instrucment, which includes, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, flute, saxophone, percussion and french horn. On a weekly basis students receive a private or small group lesson and participate in the school based band.

Small and large group ensembles exist at the elementary, middle and high school levels. These groups meet during and after school hours. Ensembles include the following: band, orchestra, honors band, honors orchestra, chorus, select chorus, string ensemble, percussion ensemble, brass ensemble, and several show choirs.

Students may elect to take private instrumental lesson for a nominal fee. Private instrumental lessons will be offered in the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, bass, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, flute, saxophone, percussion, french horn, guitar, piano and voice.  If interested in private instruction, click here.
