Dear Parents and Guardians of Grade Nine Students:
Welcome to the start of a new school year as well as the start of you child's high school experience. My name is Stephen Duffy and I am the housemaster for the class of 2016.
Waltham High School is a place for students to take on new responsibilities and independence. Now is the time for students to challenge themselves and start planning for the future. Freshman year is an important year in the growth of all students and positive school experiences can strongly influence students as they look toward the future. I hope to be a vehicle for this success. I will work with teachers and other school personnel to support all students toward their highest level of achievement. We look to parents to support these efforts and make the home a continuation of the learning environment.
I am committed to fostering communication between school and home; please feel free to contact me at any time. If you would like to meet with me, I will be available mornings between 6:45-7:15 a.m. and after school from 2:10-3:00 p.m. Please call to set up a time.
Please join me Wednesday, September 12, 2012, for a Freshman Parents Information Night at 7:00 p.m. in our cafeteria to receive information that will help students and parents set a course for a successful high school experience.
