Our Plympton PRIDE values focus on Positive attitude, Responsibility, Including others, Determination and  Etiquette and will be emphasized throughout the year.

APRIL MEMO

April showers are suppose to be rain, not SNOW!

Please make a note that due to the snow days in February, the last day of school is now scheduled for June 21st.

PARCC Testing-Waltham has made the decision to have our students (grades 3-5) take the PARCC test this year in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Grade 5 students will continue to take the science MCAS test. An information letter and test schedule was sent home in February and a reminder one sent last week. PARCC testing begins April 26th.

Recess at Leary- Due to the coordinated efforts of staff and Officer Frassica and the cooperation of students, recess at Leary Field for grades 2-5 has been very successful. Students are walking the track or engaging in a variety of games on the field.

Plympton PRIDE- Our Plympton Pride focus for the remainder of the year will include all our values:  Etiquette --practicing good manners.  In addition, we continue to watch for students demonstrating Positive attitude, Responsibility, Including others, Determination and Etiquette.

RTN Helps Plympton Students Learn to Save

Plympton Elementary has partnered with RTN Federal Credit Union to bring the lesson of saving to students. The Cents-ible Savers Club is a youth savings plan designed to help students understand the concept of savings and establish their own personal account. Participating in the Club can help your child develop healthy financial habits to last a lifetime.

Students interested in making a deposit or opening a Cents-ible Savers Club account can see the Credit Union representative on any of the scheduled days. Plympton visits are typically the first and third Tuesday of the month. There is a minimum deposit of $1 at the school. You can also visit one of our Credit Union branches, including our main branch located at 600 Main Street in Waltham.

For additional information on the Cents-ible Savers Club, please contact our Education and Financial Literacy Coordinator, Kerri McLaughlin, CCUCF, at kmclaughlin@rtn.org or 781-736-9962.
