Welcome to T. R. Plympton

"Living and Learning Together"

 Mission Statement

Students, parents and staff unite in a diverse community that values and promotes mutual respect, unconditional acceptance, the pursuit of academic excellence, professional motivation, cooperative contribution and life-long learning in a safe and secure environment.

Welcome October! The school year is off and running! Routines have been established and students are engaged in great learning experiences every day. Many of our volunteer programs will begin this month; RSVP (retired senior reading partners), America Clicks, ELL Bentley Buddies, Brandeis TIPS and National Honor Society tutors (many of them former Plympton students).

Congratulations to Ms. Gail Zunz who retired on September 30th. We honored and celebrated her many years of service to Waltham Public Schools, particularly to Plympton students, at our September community meeting. We wish her all the best for a happy, healthy retirement. Joining the Plympton staff is Ms. Tamsyn Kenyon as Speech/Language teacher --we welcomed her on October 1st.

We look forward to the start of BOKS (build our kids' success)--before school physical activity/nutrition program on October 21st.   Students begin their day participating in team building activities, physical routines and learning a nutrition tidbit. We are thrilled with the success of the program over the last two years and thank our parent coordinator, Ghenya Kuchler, and her team of parent/staff volunteers for their time, efforts and dedication.

Our Plympton Pride value focus this month is positive attitude--smile, cheer people up, do your best, try new things, learn from your mistakes.

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend the PTO meeting on October 21st to review the A.L.I.C.E elementary curriculum and have an opportunity to ask questions-a letter was sent home October 2 containing more detailed information. Please click on link below to preview the curriculum.

Vocabulary Day is coming-- October 31st! This is our annual tradition of showing the definition of a word!

The Welcome Back letters sent home on Sept 3rd are posted below--please review for important information.
