Greetings Plympton Families,

Congratulations to our students for their commitment to this year's service project--Only A Child. This charity, founded by Waltham native George Leger, maintains a group home and carpentry shop for street youth in Guatemala City, offering them something to belong to, a place where they are respected and cared for, a place where they can grow and develop an identity complete with confidence and self-esteem. Students decorated coin banks in the style of traditional Guatemalan weavings to collect coins to support this charity and presented Mrs. Leger with a donation of $1,600.00 at our community meeting! Mr. Leger shared slides of his work and was very appreciative of Plympton's generosity!

Students are doing a great job demonstrating and practicing Positive Attitude, Responsibility and Inclusion. Their examples are posted on the PRIDE bulletin board in the foyer. The Plympton Pride value we are focusing on the next few months is Etiquette -(practicing good manners).

Dismissal:We are receiving many calls close to dismissal time from parents/guardians making changes in dismissal plans for that day. We ask that a note be sent to your child's teacher in the morning indicating that a change is taking place. In the event that a change is necessary and was not known at the beginning of the day, we ask that you call the main office by 2:00 pm allowing ample time for us to contact the teacher to be sure your child receives the message. We understand there may be emergency circumstances that prevent advanced notice, in these situations, please call as needed.
