From the Principal: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 2012: Wednesday, August 29, 2012. School Dance - Friday, 1/20/12, 6:30 - 9:30 pm. MIDTERM SCHEDULE: Tues 1/17: ELA; Wed 1/18: Math; Thurs 1/19 - no exams (1/2 day); Fri 1/20: World Lang; Mon 1/23: Social Studies and World Lang; Tues 1/24: Science; Wed 1/25: World Lang, Thurs/Fri (1/26 & 1/27): Make Ups FINALS SCHEDULE: June 4 - June 13th - details to follow. MCAS are set to begin March 20th (Long Comp - 7th grade). Specific dates are to be released soon for ELA, Math, and Science, but please do not schedule any trips/vacations without first consulting MCAS dates, which will happen late March through mid May. Grades Close for 2nd qtr Friday, 1/27/12. Report Cards are scheduled to go home, Tuesday, Feb 7th. Please sign off the attach sheet and return it to homerooms. Early Release Day - Thursday, January 19th. Middle School students released at 12:30. PTO - please join us for our next PTO meeting, Tuesday, March 13th, 7-8 pm, in the student cafe. McDevitt Spring Concert - Thursday, May 24th, 7:00 pm. Drop Off/Pick Up Policy: please remember to drop off and pick up students in the rear of the building, near the field. For safety's sake, we want to minimize the number of students in the faculty parking area and near the busses. Also, please remember, students should only cross Church Street at the Crossing Guard at the corner of School Street. Please don't ask students to cross outside the crosswalk to meet you. PROGRESS REPORTS/END OF QUARTER DATES: 1st qtr Prog Reports - Oct. 7, End of Qtr - Nov. 10 2nd qtr Prog Reports - Dec 16, End of Qtr - Jan 27 3rd qtr Prog Reports - March 9, End of Qtr - April 5 4th qtr Prog Reports - May 18, Close of School - June 15 TEACHER EMAIL: all staff email are the firstnamelastname@k12.waltham.ma.us. Attendance Policy: Please remember that only a doctor's note excuses a student medical absence or tardy. No credit (N grade) is given on the 9th absence in a Cluster subject and on the 5th in a non-cluster subject. |
